June Letter:

Well hello there friend,

June has arrived on the homestead and much of my time has been spent out of doors; seeding, watering, weeding and preserving. The early morning hours of the day are my favourite to go outside and greet the sunrise in the garden. The sun casts its warm glow through the petals and the stillness of morning is such a blessing.

The swallows swoop across the meadow as the monarchs search for the perfect milkweed to lay their eggs on. One by one the tiny corn stalks peek their way up through the earth, so spring turns into summer. June has arrived and its long hours and bright sunny days encourage long days in the garden and home finding work to do and do with all my might.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 ” Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;”

As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness- just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breathe it, just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.” – Laura Ingalls Wilder

So my friend, I hope that you this letter finds you well and that you can rejoice in the day the Lord has made. Each day is full of many simple blessings to be thankful to God for so let us cultivate some time in our day to think of some. I would love to make my letter longer but Gramma’s fresh strawberry pie recipe begs for me to make it.

Until next month,
Meagan
